Wechsel bei Creative Commons Schweiz

Creative Commons setzt sich für eine künstlerfreundliche Anwendung des Urheberrechts ein: Mit modulartigen Lizenzen unter dem Motto “some rights reserved” – zwischen strengem Copyright (all rights reserved) und public domain (no rights reserved) – können KünstlerInnen bestimmen, unter welchen rechtlichen Bedingungen sie ihre Werke veröffentlichen und weiter verwendbar machen wollen. Creative Commons Schweiz passt die ursprünglich für das amerikanische Recht formulierten CC-Lizenzen an das Schweizer Recht an und unterstützt Schweizer KünstlerInnen beim Einsatz von CC-Lizenzen.

Der Verein Openlaw – Plattform für Recht und freie Software hat seit mehreren Jahren den Legal Lead für Creative Commons Schweiz getragen. Die Aufgaben bestanden u.a. darin, Creative Commons für die Schweiz zu adaptieren, und als Anlaufstelle für Anfragen zur Verfügung zu stehen.

Creative Commons in der Schweiz wird nun neu von der Digitalen Allmend betreut (www.allmend.ch).

Gleichzeitig zieht sich Openlaw aus dem Legal Lead zurück.

Personell setzt sich die Leitung zusammen aus:

Simon Schlauri (Weiterentwicklung CC-Lizenz)

Creative Commons Schweiz wird unterstützt durch Dr. Urs Gasser, Rechtsanwalt, Professor an der Universität St. Gallen.

Im Rahmen des weiteren Supportive Networks stehen auch die bisherigen Mitglieder Urs Gehrig, lic.iur (Bern) sowie Dr. Christian Laux, Rechtsanwalt LLM (Zürich) unterstützend zur Verfügung.

Transition at Creative Commons Switzerland

Creative Commons promotes an artist-friendly approach to copyright. With modular licenses freely available under the motto “some rights reserved” – a balance between strict copyright (all rights reserved) and public domain (no rights reserved) – creators can select the legal conditions under which they publish their works und make them available for reuse. Creative Commons Switzerland has adapted the CC Licenses, originally formulated for the United States legal system, to Swiss law, and they support Swiss creators with the implementation of CC Licenses.

The organization Openlaw, platform for law and Free Software, has filled the role of Legal Lead for Creative Commons Switzerland for several years. The tasks entailed, among others, the adaptation of Creative Commons in Switzerland and providing a point-of-contact for inquiries about the licenses.

Creative Commons in Switzerland will now be coordinated by Digitale Allmend (www.allmend.ch), while Openlaw will be stepping down from its role at Legal Lead.

Personnel will be set along the following lines:

Creative Commons Switzerland will be supported through Dr. Urs Gasser, Attorney, Professor at the University of St. Gallen. Within the framework of an extended support network, previous CC CH members Urs Gehrig, lic.iur (Basel) and Dr. Christian Laux, Attorney LLM (Zürich) will be readily available.
